XP Lab Innovation (10SMSTS-611)

Description

XP Lab Innovation introduces students to innovation as a systems-oriented, value-driven, and ethically grounded practice. Across seven experiential sessions, students explore how innovation emerges in conditions of uncertainty and complexity. Through foresight, design thinking, systems mapping, ethical reasoning, and creative experimentation, students learn to identify opportunities, develop concepts, prototype solutions, and communicate persuasively. The module emphasizes reflective practice, teamwork, and learning from failure, drawing on interdisciplinary perspectives from design, decision sciences, sustainability, ethics, and emerging technologies.

Students work in teams on an innovation challenge while maintaining an individual reflection journal. The course culminates in an integrated pitch presentation. Learning activities include workshops, role play, improvisation, debates, scenario development, and project-based work.
