Sustainability now! Feminist Pathways to environmental justice(10SMTS-102)

Description

The event will be conducted as a lecture series by the Right Livelihood Center and the Sustainability Hub. The next sessions open with an introductory presentation by a winner of the Alternative Nobel Prize. The lectures by laureates do not fall within classic academic areas but instead demonstrate impressively how knowledge is operationalized in the field. Additionally, engaging with the award winners promotes inter-, trans-, and multidisciplinary ways of thinking. This is because their achievements, for example in the areas of human rights or ecology, cannot be clearly assigned to a single field of study. The topic of sustainability  is explored from various perspectives. Each evening, alongside the winners, there will be a representative from research and civil society on the podium.

The module offers the opportunity to provide the assesment as a moderation or podcast. The module also offers the opportunity to get to know outstanding personalities with the award winners. The module is on high demand, so book early.

  • Niels Heini

"This course, with the challenges it included, offered a refreshing change of pace for me compared to the more traditional lectures. I would definitely consider enrolling in more STS courses that have interactive challenges incorporated, rather than just exams."

Niels Heini, Bachelor-student at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
  • Loukina Tille

"Being part of this lecture series was incredibly valuable. Not only did I learn from people on the frontlines, but I also enhanced my teamwork skills and gained experience in podcast creation. If you’re eager to use your creativity and engage with pressing global issues, I highly recommend joining this course!"

Loukina Tille, Bachelor-student Political Science and Environmental Studies
