Innovation Hub & Center for Leadership in the Future of Work
The future of work involves a myriad of human challenges – from promoting well-being and avoiding emotional exhaustion and burnout, to equipping people with the skills they need to remain employable, to helping people develop and adopt technologies that support humans and enable them to do their best at work, to fostering greater diversity, equality, and inclusion. To create solutions for these challenges – both through technology-supported solutions and non-tech innovations like new HR practices and processes – the world needs a place that is dedicated to developing human-centered innovations for a brighter future of work.
The Center for Leadership in the Future of Work offers this course in partnership with the UZH Innovation Hub. This is the first Innovathon on the topic of building a human-centered future of work. The goal of the course is to creatively and collaboratively develop new ideas for innovations that help to make the future of work better for people.
In this intensive, project-based course, participants will work closely in teams to develop their own novel ideas for new people-focused innovations and pitch these to a panel of experts from academia and industry. Promising ideas will be offered continued support at the end of the course.
At the outset of the course, students will learn from expert perspectives on the future of work and work with industry partners to identify key human challenges in the future world of work. Then, during the course, students will collaboratively develop solutions for these identified challenges. The course involves students taking time outside of designated class time to work in teams to rapidly create solutions for how to tackle the identified challenges.
